Amanda B. Sumiel, PHR, SHRM-CP

About Amanda

Amanda Sumiel is the Human Resources Director for our organization. She has over 26 years of experience in Human Resources and holds two professional certifications, the Professional in Human Resource (PHR) and Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).  Amanda graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park where she earned a B.A. in English.  Her career has spanned local and state government, public and private entities.

Active in her church and community, Amanda enjoys helping, serving and leading others. She is a choir director, health advocate and member of the media team. She also teaches group exercise at her local YMCA. “The culture of giving, caring and empowerment that Chesapeake Bank has established with their employees and communities is what drew me to the organization.
