What is a Digital Debit Card?
It’s your trusty debit card, just without the plastic – a virtual version of your physical debit card that can be used for online purchases, mobile wallet payments, and contactless transactions. Just pop it into your Apple Wallet or Google Pay, and you’re ready to roll at any place that accepts contactless payment. Simple as that. It provides a convenient and secure way to make purchases immediately while waiting for your physical debit card to arrive or if your card has been replaced.
How do I use my Digital Debit Card?
A digital debit card works just like your physical debit card, but it is stored securely on your mobile device. Once added to Apple Pay® or Google Pay™, you can use it for online shopping, in-app purchases, and contactless payments at participating merchants. Your digital card is linked directly to your Chesapeake Bank checking account, giving you fast, secure access to your funds wherever contactless payments are accepted.
If you need to type in your card number, no worries! You can just copy and paste it from your online banking account. Just go to ‘Debit Cards’, click on ‘Digital Debit Cards’, and hit the ‘Copy Card Number’ button.
What if I want to have both a Digital Debit Card and physical debit card?

Does the Digital Debit Card have the same number as my physical card?
Your Digital Debit Card number? No – it has its own unique number, different from any other card you’re toting around.
How do I tell which card was used for a purchase?
Check your transaction history and you’ll see the tail end of your card number, just the last four digits, mind you. Now, if you’re poking around in online banking, take a look at the details for the full statement description.
Where is my CVV Code?
On a Digital Debit Card, the CVV code is located on the face of the image of your card. For a physical debit card, it is usually found on the back of the card.
I had fraud on my Digital Debit Card, what do I do?
Go to Debit Cards in online banking or the ChesBank mobile app. Select “Lock” or “Unlock a Card.” You may temporarily lock a card or choose to report it lost or stolen. A dispute may be filed as usual.
If you need to dispute a transaction, you may do so in your transaction history, as long as the transaction is not in a “pending” status. Select the three dots beside the transaction, select dispute, then follow the prompts.
Can I get a Digital Debit Card for my business Account?

Can I have more than one Digital Debit Card to share with family members?
Here at Chesapeake Bank, we urge each account holder, or user, to be added to the account to get their own card.

Plus, when it comes to tracking down and disputing those fraudulent charges, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack if multiple folks are using the same number.
