A “Top Performing Community Bank” in the U.S. for the nineteenth consecutive year
As we continue celebrating over 125 years as an independent community bank, we’re pleased to share exciting news about our performance.
The second quarter of 2026 was the strongest in our company’s history.
We reported record quarterly earnings of more than $8.1 million, or $1.74 per diluted share. These results included a one-time after-tax gain of approximately $2.7 million from the sale of our ownership interest in Bearing Insurance, while also reflecting the continued strength of our core business.
Our growth remains both consistent and organic. Total assets reached nearly $1.73 billion, increasing 5.8% from a year ago. Even more impressive, total assets have grown 44% since the end of 2020, demonstrating the momentum we’ve built through long-term relationship banking and a commitment to serving our communities. After all, it’s a marathon, not a sprint – as Chessie would agree.
We also continue to maintain exceptional asset quality. Nonperforming assets remain well below peer group averages, reflecting the disciplined approach to risk management and customer service that has defined Chesapeake for generations.
Our Board of Directors recently declared a quarterly dividend of 18 cents per share, extending our remarkable record of 33 consecutive years of dividend increases. And over the past year, our stock price has increased by 82%, creating substantial value for our shareholders.
“We couldn’t have achieved this milestone without the support of our customers, shareholders, employees, and communities. We are only as strong as the communities we serve…thank you for being part of our success.” – Becky Foster, Executive Vice President, COO, and CFO of Chesapeake Bank.
Record earnings are worth celebrating, but they’re really the result of something even more important: the relationships in the community we’ve built together.
