Chesapeake Bank opened the doors to our newest lending office at 5309 Commonwealth Centre Parkway in Midlothian, VA—and what a celebration it was.
Since 2011, we’ve been part of the Richmond community with full-service branches and lending offices in the Westhampton and Chesterfield areas, and we proudly serve residents in three prominent retirement communities: Lakewood, Cedarfield, and Westminster-Canterbury. This new Midlothian location marks our sixth in the region, and it’s designed to bring our commercial and mortgage lending teams, along with Chesapeake Wealth Management, even closer to the people and businesses we serve.
“This is an important milestone in our continued investment in the Richmond region,” said Jeff Szyperski, CEO of Chesapeake Bank. “We’ve seen tremendous growth and opportunity here, and Midlothian represents a vibrant, expanding community where we can deepen our relationships and deliver the personalized service Chesapeake Bank is known for.”
Tommy Adams, Senior Vice President, Senior Lender and Richmond Regional Executive, added, “We’re thrilled to bring our teams to Midlothian. This new space allows us to better serve our clients and collaborate more closely with the community. It’s an exciting time for our team and for the future of Chesapeake Bank in Richmond.”
A Toast to Tradition and Togetherness
The moment guests walked through the doors of our new 2,600-square-foot space, it was clear this wasn’t just another ribbon-cutting; it was a celebration of connection. The office was thoughtfully arranged with swag, bites that brought people together, and a delicious cake from Smallcakes Williamsburg that quickly became the centerpiece of both conversation and dessert – featuring our Chesapeake National Boat ‘N Bank. (Yes, we made a bank float once!)
Adding to the festive spirit, our friends at Ashton Creek Vineyards brought a beautifully curated selection of wines, helping us raise a glass to new beginnings and lasting relationships.
We were honored to be joined by leaders from the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, along with our Richmond team, local partners, friends, and valued clients. Many shared heartfelt reflections about their connection to our 125-year-old independent institution, describing it as more like being part of a family than just a business relationship. One of the highlights of the evening was a shared laugh about how impossible it would be to stay productive with such an incredible view.
Their stories and presence remind us of our purpose. We’re more than just accounts and transactions—we’re neighbors, friends, and partners, working together to help families and businesses thrive.
With this expansion, Chesapeake Bank continues to build on its legacy of community-focused banking, offering tailored financial solutions and trusted advisory services to individuals and businesses alike.
“We look forward to growing with our communities, being a part of them, and giving back to them,”‘ said Tommy Adams.
